A free Splitwise alternative with no daily limits
Log as many expenses as you want, with no ads, no cooldown timer, and no subscription. Bring your Splitwise history with you.
Splitwise built the category, then put a meter on it. Free accounts now hit a daily cap on how many expenses they can add, and ads sit between you and saving a dinner receipt. If you split costs regularly, you hit that ceiling in a week.
SpndX takes the opposite position. There is no premium tier to upsell you to, so there is nothing to gate. Unlimited expenses, unlimited group members, full balance history, and every split mode are simply included.
What you get instead
No daily expense cap
Add fifty expenses in an evening if that is what the trip needs. There is no counter, no cooldown, and no ad between you and the save button.
Splitwise CSV import
Export any Splitwise group as a spreadsheet and import it into a Shared Space. Members, expenses, and running balances carry over.
Four split modes
Equal, percentage, exact amount, and shares. Debts are simplified so the group settles in the fewest possible transfers.
Works offline, in any currency
Log a bill with no signal and in whatever currency you paid. Conversion is stored with the expense, so totals stay correct.

Frequently asked questions
- Does SpndX have a daily expense limit like Splitwise?
- No. SpndX places no cap on how many expenses you log per day, and there is no cooldown timer or ad between entries. Splitwise restricts free accounts to a small number of expenses per day.
- Can I import my existing Splitwise groups?
- Yes. Open a Splitwise group on the web, choose Export as spreadsheet to download the CSV, then import that file into a SpndX Shared Space. Members, expenses, and balances come across.
- Is SpndX actually free, or is there a paid tier later?
- SpndX has no premium tier. There is no subscription, no locked features, and no ads. Core bill splitting, multi-currency tracking, and analytics are all included.
- Do my friends need to create accounts to join a group?
- No. You can share a Shared Space by QR code or invite link and members can participate in guest mode without registering or verifying an email address.
Is it really free?
Yes. SpndX has no paid tier, which is a product decision rather than a launch promotion. The app stores data locally and does not resell spending data, so it does not need ad inventory or a subscription to justify itself.
If you later want your groups on more than one device, signing in enables optional sync. Staying in local mode keeps everything on your phone.
